Overcoming the fear of driving

Tamar, 51

Tel Aviv

Since I had a severe car accident, I have had a fear of driving. I was not ready to drive again, but I also didn’t want to sell my car, which ended up being in a garage for years. Then I heard about the innovative Verapist sessions, and I thought, let’s give it a try.

When I went to therapist Raphael Radovan, he explained how therapy with Virtual Reality works. He said it is a safe environment. He will monitor my heartbeat and other body functions to reduce and control my anxiety level during the VR therapy. When I first sat down in a chair and put on the VR glasses, it felt like sitting in my car. Everything looked very realistic: the streets, the buildings, the car that I was driving, and the cars that were passing me on the road. Little by little, I got more comfortable driving in the virtual space.

After seven sessions, I was ready to go back to driving in my neighborhood. I was still a bit nervous, but I felt relieved. I continued the therapy for another few sessions until I felt completely safe on the roads. Today I enjoy driving again, thanks to Raphael Radovan.

Conquering my fear of flying

Asaf, 34

Holon

I went to Verapist because once I experienced terrible turbulence on a flight. I was scared to death, I thought the aircraft would crash, and we will all die. Since then, I couldn’t even think of going to the airport. It generated even more problems for me. I couldn’t take a job because it included meetings abroad. My relationship was falling to pieces, too, because I couldn’t take my girlfriend on any trips. I felt my fear was affecting every aspect of my life.

What I liked about Verapist the most was the stages of healing. My therapy session did not start with flying. Instead, we started with the preparations, including packing, going to the airport, and boarding, as my anxiety always started rising from these early stages. The VR sessions felt very realistic to me. The background noise and view from the plane made me believe I was on an airplane. Raphael Radovan took notes during every session, he checked my heartbeat and always ensured that I was in a safe environment with him. I needed 10-15 sessions to overcome my phobia.

My first flight after the sessions was to Eilat as it is a short flight. It was perfect to see where I was in my healing process. I was very proud that I didn’t give up and overcame my fear. Today I am flying overseas, and my girlfriend is happy to join me.

Curing my elevator phobia

Eran, 42

Tel Aviv

I was not claustrophobic until I got stuck in the elevator once. I got a panic attack, and since then, I couldn’t use the elevator again and would only use the stairs to my workplace. It was manageable in the first few years because my office was on the 3rd floor. But then the company moved to a skyscraper, and I was unable to go to work. I needed to find a solution immediately. Otherwise, I would lose my job.

After 15 Verapist sessions, finally, I conquered my fear. Thanks to the VR glasses, my brain believed that I was in an elevator during the therapy. I got scared initially, but I was getting better session by session. Today I have no problem going up with an elevator to even the 46th floor. Verapist was the best investment in my personal and professional well-being.

Finally finding focus:
My ADHD journey with Verapist

Eden, 28

Herzliya

For years, I struggled with staying focused, feeling overwhelmed, constantly forgetting something, and juggling a million things at once. Simple tasks, like keeping up with emails or organizing my day, felt impossible and stressful. Maybe because I’m young and work in high tech, I love technology so I was very excited to try VR Therapy.

After coming to Verapist, I’ve learned how to stay on track. One big win for me was finally being able to sit through a full meeting at work without losing focus or getting distracted by my phone. The real-time feedback helped me train my brain to stay engaged, and now I’m more productive and confident. With VR therapy, it’s like my brain finally clicked into gear. I finally have control over my ADHD, and I’m getting things done without the stress. I’m so grateful for this tool—it’s been a game changer!
